chicago stage review
i grew up on bema street, in a grey town in eastern poland. it was a small concrete apartment for a family of 7, with my bedroom windows looking out over the army barracks across the street. at night, i would lie awake and think about walking outside, peering into people's windows, stealing a fleeting glance of their lives while the entire town slept. today, i still try to look into different windows, and translate the stories i see into something visual. the world is still a fascinating and strange place, but this time i'm allowed to stay out as late as i want
